Interwinery Seminar & Trade Show 2026 at Adelaide Oval: What SA Wineries and Wine Labs Should Know.

South Australia is home to some of the country's best-known wine regions, from the Barossa to McLaren Vale and the Clare Valley. Behind every bottle sits a lot of technical work: lab analysis, quality checks, blending decisions and compliance records.
If you work in a winery laboratory, in production, or you supply the wine industry, one of the most practical events on the South Australian calendar this November is the Interwinery Annual AGM, Seminar & Trade Show 2026, held at Adelaide Oval.
This Adelaide wine industry event brings together laboratory staff, winemakers, researchers and suppliers to discuss technical developments and connect with others across the wine industry.

Who Is Interwinery?
The Interwinery Analysis Group is an Australian-based proficiency testing network for people who do technical analysis of wine and other alcoholic beverages.
Member laboratories benchmark their results against more than 200 wine laboratories worldwide. The group says it has run this comparative analysis service for more than 30 years and that its proficiency testing scheme has held NATA accreditation (ISO/IEC 17043) since 2014. It is run by volunteer committee members from the wine industry.
For SA winery laboratories, the annual seminar is a useful place to hear technical updates and compare notes with peers who face the same day-to-day challenges.
Why the Event Matters for SA Wine and Beverage Producers
Wineries are food and beverage manufacturers, and they face the same pressures as other South Australian producers: rising costs, tighter margins, labour shortages and customers and regulators who expect accurate records.
The tour stop at Treasury Wine Estates' automation operations is a reminder that even traditional, craft-driven businesses are investing in automation and better data.
For many small and mid-sized SA wineries, the biggest gains don't come from robots. They come from getting information out of spreadsheets and paper logs and into systems that the laboratory, the cellar and the office all share.
Here are a few questions worth thinking about before the seminar.
1. Where Do Your Lab Results Live?
If analysis results sit in spreadsheets or on instrument PCs, it's harder to spot trends, share them with winemakers or pull them up during an audit.
Having accessible and organised wine production data can help teams make better-informed decisions and manage records more efficiently.
2. Can You Trace a Batch End to End?
Linking grape intake, ferments, additions, blends, lab results and bottling runs makes recalls, export paperwork and customer questions much faster to handle.
Reliable batch traceability also helps SA food and beverage manufacturers maintain accurate production records and respond to compliance requirements.
3. Are You Monitoring Tanks and Equipment?
Low-cost IoT sensors for temperature, levels and energy use can reduce manual rounds and flag problems early, especially during vintage.
Monitoring production equipment and conditions can help wineries identify potential issues and improve visibility across their operations.
4. Is Planning Still Done by Memory?
Production and bottling schedules tied to inventory and orders cut last-minute surprises.
Bringing these questions to a day of technical talks and supplier conversations will help you get more out of the event.
Local Support for Digitising Wine Production
South Australian producers don't have to work this out alone.
The SA Government's Manufacturing Growth Accelerator, run through the Department of State Development, supports SA manufacturers to adopt new technology and improve productivity.
It's worth checking whether your business is eligible before you plan an upgrade.
For wineries exploring South Australia winery technology, this support may provide a starting point for understanding how digital systems and improved production processes could benefit their operations.
